Frequently asked questions
Short answers about rules, rankings, validation, privacy, and how the game handles uncertain connections.
How do I play Word Wired Weird?
Type one word connected to the current last word and press Enter. Keep adding valid links until your chain reaches the target term, but protect your three hearts.
How does ranking work?
Daily ranking favors the longest valid chain, then spare hearts, then faster completion time. Rejected links cost hearts instead of becoming part of the chain.
How are connections checked?
The game checks the newest pair through trusted backend scoring. Reviewed pair data is checked first, and unknown pairs may use source evidence or provisional AI judgment when fallback is enabled. A valid link needs an explainable relationship such as a type, part, creator, place, tool, use, role, metaphor, or named phrase.
Why was my word rejected?
A word can be rejected when the connection is too broad, too weak for gameplay, duplicated, blocked, unsafe, or just a longer phrase that repeats the current word.
How are results ranked?
The main ranking priority is most valid links, then more hearts remaining, then faster completion time.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play anonymously. Google sign-in is only needed when you want a solved daily result counted on the leaderboard.
Does the game use AI?
AI can help judge unknown pairs with source evidence or its own general knowledge. Model output is provisional, queued for review, and is not treated as automatically approved content.
Will the site show ads?
The game may use ads to support the site. Ads, cookies, and privacy details are covered in the privacy policy.
